Instructions for translators

If you're interested in translating to your language, go ahead and add some suggestions. We also have a translators channel in the support server where you can talk with other translators, just ask for the translators role.

Translation process
  • Translations can be made directly.
  • Translation suggestions can be made.
  • Any authenticated user can contribute.
  • The translation uses monolingual files.
  • The translation base language can not be edited.

In most cases, it's easiest to just set a custom name and avatar while creating your webhook, which will show by default for all messages that webhook sends. You can also customize the name and avatar on a per-message basis in the "Profile" section or edit the webhook after it has already been created. Discord limitations prevent you from changing the profile information for a message that has already been sent, though.

Discohook also allows you to customize the Discohook bot itself. Use the **/profile set** command or go to your server page at https://discohook.app/me/servers.

To create a reaction role, [invite the Discohook Utils bot](https://discohook.app/bot) and use the **/reaction-role create** command.

It expects you put in a message link for the message you want the reaction role on, the emoji you want to use, and the role you want it to give.

Once the command is run, the reaction role should be functioning, though you may have issues with permissions. Make sure the highest role for Discohook Utils is above the role you gave in the command, and that the bot has the Manage Roles permission.

You can choose to have your welcomer messages sent by either the bot (Discohook Utils) or a custom webhook. If you choose a webhook, make sure it's already in the channel that you want to send the messages in, because it will not be changed by Discohook.
